Puerto Azul Resort & Private Marina is about 56 miles (90 km) away from San José and only 44 miles (70 km) from Juan Santamaria International Airport, a beautiful drive of just over one hour and 45 minutes. From Liberia International Airport it is a drive of one hour and 45 minutes too. Puerto Azul Resort & Private Marina is located in Puntarenas, one of the two largest cities on the Central Pacific coast of Costa Rica.

Puntarenas is laid on a long peninsula that measures 5 miles long but only 600 meters at its widest point, narrowing to less than a 100 meters at some points. Puntarenas has wide streets, spacious sidewalks and can offer in the Paseo de Los Turistas traditional sea food restaurants. How to get in:

From San Jose and Juan Santamaría International Airport: Take the Interamerican highway looking to the west and follow the signs indicating Puntarenas. When you see Puntarenas city sign after 50 miles, follow the rows to get into Puntarenas entrance road, and then turn right to enter the city. Puerto Azul is only 1.5 miles away from Puntarenas entrance and 200 meters away from Costa Rica Yacht Club on the right side of the main road. The highway quality is good and excellent from San Jose to San Ramon area.

From Liberia and Guanacaste beaches : Take the Interamerican Highway looking to the southeast and follow the signs indicating Puntarenas city. When you see Puntarenas city sign after 70 miles, follow the rows to get into Puntarenas entrance road and then turn right again to enter the city. Puerto Azul is only 1.5 miles away from Puntarenas entrance and 200 meters away from Costa Rica Yacht Club on the right side of the main road. If you come from the Guanacaste beaches you have to go to Liberia or Puente de La Amistad through Tempisque River and take the Interamerican Highway looking southeast. The highway quality is good.

From Jaco, Manuel Antonio and Central Pacific beaches: Take the highway to San Jose and turn to the Caldera Highway looking northwest on the way to Caldera Port. After Caldera port follow the highway about 9 miles and turn to the Puntarenas entrance. Puerto Azul is only 1.5 miles away from Puntarenas entrance and 200 meters away from Costa Rica Yacht Club on the right side of the main road. The highway is Excellent except Orotina/Caldera part with bumps.
